I just realized that I needed to install the Ship’s Bell Housing before installing the Anchor Windlass.
Took me forever to carve this out!
I was trying to install it and as I was pressing down on it, the darn thing broke on me so I had to reglue it and repaint.
I’m making the Belfry for the Ship’s Bell.
It’s made out of 4×4 Walnut stock. Of course Mamoli didn’t really give me enough… Well, only just I suppose.
I found the easiest way to make these notches is to press down on the Edges, then to shave off a bit of a time until you get the desired shape. I also use my little mini square file because it just do happens to be the ideal width of 2mm. (It’s actually around 2.5mm but it’s ok)
I found a piece of plastic from a previous model and I just used it.
