Gallery Decorations

Those Leaves will go on the Stern portion of the Gallery.

The other is the Decorations around the Windows out of the Gallery on the sides of the ship.

Here I’m using the Gold Leaf Paint. I doubt that Captain Cook ever had the Endeavor this decorated, but I like the look of it. Hopefully it will distract from the White Window Panes, which I’m not that big of a fan of but I decided to keep it like that… 🤔🙄

I’m just going to have to live with the gap between the Decorative Window Pane and the Bulwarks… It’s made of this really fragile Pewter material that is easily broken. To my chagrin, I broke one of the Monks carrying Grapes as I was trying to take off some Grapes from the bottom in order to make it fit. I was able to repair it with Contact Cement and Superglue…

I know I have a few errors in the painting. I will fix it after it dries with my White Gelly Roll 10 Pen.

Can you believe they ONLY gave me this much of the 2x2mm Ramin Stick for the Rubbing Planks!!!

I’m painting the Taffrail Cover with this Gold Paint…

I used some Gorilla Glue Epoxy for this job since the cover was made out of pewter.

I’m waiting for a 1/64 Lifeboat Kit to arrive from China that I ordered off of eBay. I hope it’s good!

Anyway, I ordered a Life Boat from Model Expo. It’s a bit smaller than I wanted so I’m saving it to use as a Life Boat…

The one I ordered from eBay is obviously being shipped from China because it is taking so long!

Here’s the Boat…

I am beginning to build the Boat Rack in anticipation for it. I will keep things removable until I get the Boat to see how it fits…

I had to go down to 6mm on the Rack forward of the Main Mast so that any Beams I put in will be parallel with the Main Deck…

Bitts Midships / Forecastle

I’m working on the rest of the Bitts.

I swear, the making of these Bitts have probably been the most frustrating thing in the entire project so far!

Anyway… I THINK I figured it out.

I was able to pull out this nice Bitt using my #11 Xacto Razorblades.

They are quite difficult to make with any consistency!!! I must’ve made like 60 of them, trying to make them look consistent!!!

I had to make this Jig in order to bend the Hand Rail around in the same way as the Taffrail.

I had to make a second attempt because my first one broke. I was lucky and found some spare Flexibility Beech Wood which I missed. I soaked it for around 6 hours. I didn’t use heat, and it went around just fine ..
